We earnestly believe the foundations our all other religions that do not have Jesus Christ as central to salvation are false religions and lead people to hell. They may have some good attributes but nonetheless are false paths. This includes Islam (a major world religion) , Hindu, Buddist, Christian Science, Jehovah Witnesses and several other cults. Don't be deceived. Christianity offers Real Hope, Real Peace, Real Joy, Eternal Life and a true path to God. |
The Problem with Interfaith Belief systems
Even though Interfaith may sound to be a worthwhile endeavour our view at askthebible.com is that there are elements within the interfaith concept that are without a doubt false and are a satanic inspired agenda which deliberately undermine traditional Christian beliefs. In fact, a number of Interfaith Organisations across the World and in Australia can be traced to Islamic groups. Where Christianity has been the strong and substantive belief in several Christian countries this is slowly being undermined because of worldly views, satanic deceptions and eastern religions. You only have to analyse the recent aggressive spread of Islam in the United Kingdom, Europe, Thailand and USA in the last 3 years.
We earnestly believe the assumption /inference made that God has revealed Himself through all religions and therefore all paths lead to God is unbiblical, illogical and demonstrably false. We argue the case for this in the discourse below. Sadly people like Oprah Winfred are also promoting the Devil's lie, that it doesn't matter what you believe. She claims all roads lead to God. This is exactly the opposite of what the Bible says.
What is 'Interfaith'?
Firstly before any discussion is commenced. What is the definition of interfaith. What does it mean? The following is a definition from the Reverend James Parks Morton from New York.
"In a word, interfaith is most fundamentally respect. The bottom line is respecting different faiths. It's coming to understand them. And more, it's coming to love them. Each of us has so many layers to our lives. We speak many languages and listen to diverse music. We eat many different kinds of food. It is time that our spiritual diet, too, becomes a healthy mixed menu. Its very variety makes us richer, deeper, more understanding, more loving. Our shared slogan must be: Communion not conversion, communion, respect and love with compassion."
The Very Reverend James Parks Morton,
Founder and President,This is the same Interfaith Centre that Stephanie Dowrick (Pitt Street - Uniting Church, Sydney, Australia ) and Helen Summers (Interfaith Centre of Melbourne, Australia) attended and the type of crazy nonsensical unbiblical thinking that has indoctrinated Ms Stephanie Dowrick and Ms Helen Summers.
THE CHRISTIAN'S PROBLEM WITH INTERFAITH AND WHY INTERFAITH IS A ROAD TO HELL
Problem A -- Why Interfaith is unworkable and illogical.
What do the words "respect and love" mean to a Christian?
Related Biblical Scriptures
(1) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ) that whosoever believes in Him shall not die but shall receive eternal life." - (John 3 v16.)
(2) Second Great Commandment as defined in Matt 22 v39 ("And the second is like it: love your neighbour as yourself.")
(3) "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you." (Luke 6 v 27 - A Biblical call to love our enemies)
There is no argument that we as Christians are called to love all mankind irrespective of creed, religion, sex, race or colour. This includes our enemies even if our enemies are from another religion (such as Islam) or part of the Chinese Communist Government which are both responsible for killing, maiming and murdering our Christian brothers and sisters in foreign lands. This is not rumour or myth. This is fact. Christians are being persecuted in countries such as Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan, Thailand, China and the Philippines today.
As an outworking / outcome of Luke 6 v 27 does this mean as Christians we are called to love different faiths. Certainly not!
There is no Biblical Scripture to support this position. We love Jesus Christ for what He has done for us. How can we love a faith that is meaningless to us and in some cases is diametrically opposed to our own religious beliefs. In addition, in some cases some hard line adherents of certain religions call Christians, pigs or infidels or sewerage. In contrast, these adherents (radical Muslims) call themselves pure spring water and believe when their God returns to earth Jews will be slaughtered by their god first, then Christians will be killed by their god. How can we love a faith or belief systems that promote hatred and violence?
Does the Bible call us to respect other faiths
This may be an area of debate but we believe the answer is clear.
Respect is defined as (1) to look up to and /or
We believe the answer is clearly NO. The Bible certainly does not call us the honour other faiths. The children of Israel were called to turn /repent from false Gods and to worship only the true and living God. Yahweh. Serious consequences resulted in the Bible for those who chose and put their faith in false gods including Solomon. The Bible certainly does not call us to respect other faiths. (Refer entire Book of Kings. If limited time read 1 Kings 11 v 10 -11 Solomon's Failure. The pursuit of other gods resulted in his Kingdom being taken away.)
If we consider a religion such as satanism or Islam which both opposes basic human decency, basic freedoms and undermines the human rights of children and/or the individual then why would respect be considered an appropriate response by a non believer of that particular faith. Clearly respect for a belief system that is a deception and/or work /instrument of the devil is not an appropriate response. In fact, it is a ludicrous response.
A healthy mixed Spiritual Menu makes us richer, deeper, more understanding, etc.
Is this a true statement? and Is this comment realistic?
If I am a Christian and I believe I have found peace with God why would or should I spend significant personal time reading, analysing and incorporating every diverse faith known to man in an attempt to make me a richer and more understanding human being. If I have found Truth, and the truth I have found has brought meaning and purpose to me life, Why would I wish to look elsewhere. Life is incredibly short.
It is simply a waste of precious time and energy and more importantly a road to Hell to engage in this type of nonsense. If as a Christian I study Islam to understand how muslims think about spiritual matters so I can lead them to the truth, that is, Jesus Christ and the God of the Bible, then that is a good and justifiable reason to study Islam and the Koran. However, if the goal is to try and rationalise world religions to become a new all encompassing religious experience, them it's clearly a waste of time and energy. Such an action without doubt would compromise and distort my Christian understanding as revealed in the Holy Bible. Stephanie Dowrick, an Interfaith minister, already has publicly stated her compromised position, by stating she does not believe in John 14 verse 6.
Seriously to undertake an all encompassing religious view would be a pointless and confusing exercise and may lead me to a spiritual experience that is false based on an emotive/ emotional response rather than based on Biblical facts and truths. If I try to understand every religion how can I discern which religion is false and which is true? Which God should I be praying to, to help me in my assessment process? How do I know I am not praying to the Devil, when the Bible clearly states that the Devil portrays himself as an angel of light? Should I pray to all gods to appease them all and in this way try not to cause offence to every believer of every faith. Clearly this is a silly and worthless exercise. . James Morton's definition that I should come to a position of "coming to loving them" (loving all religions) is nonsense.
How do I cope and assess diametrically opposed views. Which one is right? Which one is wrong? See Part D below.
The Interfaith Mantra:- Communion not conversion
Our shared slogan must be: "Communion not conversion" says James Parks Morton.
Surely this slogan is exactly what the Devil wants. "Just believe whatever you wish." "Whatever your comfortable with", Satan would say. "All roads lead to Heaven. Ignore what Jesus Christ has done in the Cross for You. You're not a sinner. You're a really nice person. Sin does not exist. Rebellion against God does not exist. Hell does not exist." Satan would carefully explain.
This is exactly the opposite of what the Bible teaches. In John 14 v6 Christ stated "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me. John 3 v16 states very simply. "For God so loved the world that He gave He only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but shall receive eternal life."
The Great Commission (Matthew 28 v16 - 20) clearly states the importance of repentance. Turning away from every form of sin and converting to Christ. Becoming a Christian. Conversion is critical for eternal fellowship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. It is not a side issue. Communion with our non-Christian brothers or sisters looking at it from an eternal framework has little benefits unless conversion occurs. Hell (eternal separation from God) lasts forever. Interfaith followers must look at the BIG Picture, the ETERNAL picture, and the true and only pathway to God - Jesus Christ.
Problem B: The Origins of Faith
God or Satan? Ultimately there are two entities behind every faith / religion. The True Living God (as documented in the Holy Bible) or Satan (the Devil, the Dragon, the Snake, the being of deception, refer Revelation 12 v 7-9)
Interfaith conflicts with Scripture (the Holy Bible
)The Holy Bible as the inspired word of God is very clear, historical and without conflict (unlike the Koran, Book of Morman, etc etc) (See Revelation 22 v 18-19)
Incidentally the life of Christ was documented in written form (the Bible) within 25 years after His death and resurrection (57AD).
In contrast, Mohammed's life and teachings (as detailed in the Koran) were not documented until 75 years after his death. (700AD). The teachings of the founder of Buddhism, Siddhartha Gautama were not written until 350 years after his death (130BC). There is no way to be sure that Buddhist scriptures are really Gautama's words.
If I decide to follow whatever religion I so desire, on the basis that I believe it is a true pathway to God, then there is a very basic question I have to ask myself.
Why did God the Father, bother to pre-ordain, prophecy the coming of Jesus (see Isaiah) fulfilling over 300 prophecies and give up his only Son for a brutal sacrifice on the Cross. The Creator of all life making a free will choice to let his creation murder him on the basis
and full knowledge that other pathways to God would suffice. If we take a position that all religions lead to God, then there is no easy and sustainable answer to this question. The only logical position you can take is that God is a complete moron. He allowed the torture of His Son for no useful purpose. We of course don't believe this position is true or sustainable.
God the Father clearly preordained predestined and supported this incredible awesome act of love to save (redeem) mankind and womenkind from their state of sin (rebellion). If Christ's sacrifice was unnecessary and any smorgasbord of religious experiences was valid and satisfactory to obtaining reconciliation with God then plainly God (both the Alpha and Omega, transient across all time) wouldn't have bothered sending his dear Son, Jesus Christ to endure a thoroughly miserable and horrific sacrifice for no purpose.
God has acted deliberately in history through His Son Jesus Christ to bring sinful mankind and womenkind back to himself. Without doubt, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ was necessary for the redemption / reconciliation of mankind back to God. Therefore, alternative religions or alternative methods of reaching God are neither valid, true nor saving pathways.
If such an immense act of love for mankind was not required, God would never have contemplated such a horrific act let alone carried it out.
Problem D: Interfaith is in direct opposition to the Ten Commandments as spoken to Moses by God and documented in the Bible.Interfaith states that giving respect to all gods is important. Divided loyalty and divided reverence are acceptable to interfaithers. The Bible is clear as crystal the "jealousy of God" demands exclusive devotion to Himself. Interfaith has insurmountable problems. Need we say more !!.
Islam and Christianity are irreconcilable because their belief systems and supporting documentation (the Quran (Koran) and Holy Bible) are diametrically opposed. Incidentally the life of Christ was documented in written form within 25 years after His death and resurrection (57AD). In contrast, Mohammed's life and teachings were not documented until 75 years after his death in approximately 700 AD. Mohammed died in 632 AD. This means Mohammed's erroneous understanding and claims about the Jesus Christ and the Bible occur 600 years after the death of Jesus Christ. A significant period of time.
Let's now see what the Koran and the Bible say about Jesus Christ
What does the Koran state about Jesus Christ and his relationship to God ?
The Koran very clearly states that Jesus Christ is not the Son of God. Refer the five references belowThe Christians say the Messiah Jesus is the Son of God. That is the utterance of their mouths, conforming with the unbelievers before them. Allah assail them! How they are perverted! - Surah 9 verse 30
Allah has no son - Surah 10 verse 68
Allah says take not to you two Gods. He is only one God -- Surah 16 verse 50
Praise belongs to Allah, who has not taken to him a son - Surah 17 verse 110
In addition, a small verse in the Koran states that Jesus Christ did not die on the Cross.
What does the Holy Bible state about Jesus Christ and his relationship to God ?
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not die but shall receive eternal life" - John 3 verse 16
Peter said: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" - Matt 16 verse 16.
(God) "He who did not spare His own Son, but gave him up for us all"
- Romans 8 verse 32."The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God"
- Mark 1 verse 1."God said, "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased"
- Mark 1 verse 11."who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess"
- Hebrews 4 verse 14.I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me
- Galations 2 verse 20.Many Bible verses could be added to this short list. The Bible is very explicit. There can be no misunderstanding.
What does this contradiction mean? Two truths that are diametrically opposed and state the exact opposite cannot clearly stand as irrefutable truths. Only one truth can remain as true and valid the other must be rejected as an untruth (a lie or a myth)
So it is plainly ridiculous to suggest the two religions that say the exact opposite are both true and are both accurate revelations from the True and Living God and that therefore both provide a true way / pathway to reconciliation and eternal life with God.
God has given each human being a brain with an ability to assess, reason and evaluate options.
Every day we use products and evaluate them. If we buy a can of baked beans (Brand X) because they are cheaper than Heinz (and yet they state on the can they are the best tasting baked bean on the market) and when we use and taste them they taste pretty terrible. We then clearly decide that the HEINZ product is superior and tastes far better, despite it's higher price
. Therefore we do not accept the claims made by Brand X. We decide their claims are not true and not correct. Food companies as we know undertake independent taste surveys to support their claims. In a similar way, we can test and evaluate all religions based on logic, historical fact, other texts available at the time of Scriptural development and revelation through the Holy Spirit. Yes we agree faith to an extent is still required but to argue that all faiths are equal in terms of providing valid pathways to God is foolishness. Could it be argued that Satanism provides a valid path to an eternal and loving God?
Highly unlikely!Example 2 -- Hinduism (Reincarnation) verses Christian Belief
Reincarnation is a belief system that is part of Hinduism, where each person has many lives in which they progress towards a higher state. Hindus do not recognise Sin or Moral Guilt. They consider sin is an illusion. In an ultimate sense, Man is God, therefore he is not separated from God by his sin.
Again we see diametrically opposed viewpoints which cannot be reconciled. If man is God why is he subject to deterioration over time. Physical prowess and mental ability degrade as we age. Clearly we are not God. It doesn't take a Einstein to understand this fact. Therefore, an Interfaith belief system encompassing Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism cannot stand as rational reconciled belief system. It is simply unworkable.
SUMMARY
Based on the five main problems Interfaith has, that cannot be resolved, we earnestly believe the assumptions made that God has revealed Himself through all religions and therefore all paths lead to God is without doubt unbiblical, illogical and demonstrably false. The God of the Bible is the only true and living God and the only way to Him is through His Son, Jesus Christ.
All Faiths that do not acknowledge this as true are ultimately six lane highways to Hell.
We value and support the teaching of the Holy Bible in its entirety as the inspired word of God. We reject all other religions as false. Salvation is undeniably through Jesus Christ and Him alone. You are on spiritual quicksand when you attempt to pervert, change or refine Holy Scripture to support a divergent and heretical belief system.
The fact that millions today have put their hope in false Gods and false religions and are thereby heading towards an eternity in Hell remains a deep and very serious heartbreaking concern. Why is mankind blind to the Truth, because his nature is to be a creature of rebellion and pride and Satan and his demons are creatures of Deception, Lies, Slander and Wickedness.
